​WE ARE SO EXCITED TO BE SERVING OUR FLINT and genesee county COMMUNITY AND VISITORS. THE ADDITIONAL MEASURES WE'RE TAKING TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF OUR GUESTS MAY CAUSE A SLIGHT DELAY IN SERVICE, AND WE HOPE AND ASK THAT YOU BE PATIENT AS WE AIM TO PROVIDE THE BEST GUEST EXPERIENCE.

ALL GUESTS ENTERING DORT FINANCIAL CENTER WILL BE SEARCHED AND HAVE THEIR BELONGINGS SCANNED.
DORT FINANCIAL CENTER PERSONNEL RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CONFISCATE ITEMS THAT MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FACILITY OR DANGER/DISRUPTION TO AN EVENT.
GUESTS WHO VIOLATE BUILDING POLICIES OR DECLINE TO BE SEARCHED MAY BE DENIED ENTRY OR EJECTED FROM THE ARENA.

bag policy
To keep everyone safe and speed up entry, we follow a bag policy for most events and are subject to change, based on select events. 

❗️ It is strongly recommended to avoid bringing bags to events if it is not necessary. 

👜 ALL BAGS ARE SUBJECT TO SECURITY INSPECTION UPON ENTRY INTO THE VENUE.

 ✅  APPROVED BAGS
  • CLEAR BAG– Max size: 14” x 6” x 14”
    • Includes clear backpacks, clear fanny packs, and clear drawstring bags
    • Clear bag includes, 1-gallon clear Ziplock-type bags. Acceptable for small personal items
 
  • SMALL PURSE, CLUTCH or WALLET – Max size: 5” x 7”
    • Does not have to be clear
    • May be brought in in addition to a clear bag
 
  • EXCEPTIONS - MEDICAL & DIAPER BAGS
    • Required to pass through security inspection prior to entry
    • Must be smaller than 14” x 14” x 6”
    • Medically necessary items (ie: insulin, oxygen, EpiPens, mobility aids)

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE:
  • There are no spaces available at the venue to store or safeguard any prohibited bags. Guests will be asked to return items to their vehicle.

Metal detection and security screening
Every guest entering the venue will undergo a bag search and pass through a metal detector or be screened with a handheld metal detector to detect any prohibited items.

Firearms and weapons
No individual, including off-duty police officers, may carry or have in their possession any firearms or dangerous weapons within Dort Financial Center. This prohibition includes, but is not limited to, knives, impact weapons, chemical agents, or electronic control devices (e.g., tasers, stun guns).

BEHAVIORS prohibited from venue
Unattended bags or suspicious activity will not be tolerated, and non-compliant patrons will be asked to leave the venue immediately.
  • Smuggling in outside food or beverages, including water.
  • Smoking outside of the designated smoking areas.
  • Carrying of any item that could bring bodily harm.
  • Bringing pets into the venue that are not certified service animals.
  • Intoxication or signs of impairment related to alcohol or drugs.
  • Irresponsible drinking or behavior.

signs, banners & flags policy
Venue management retains the authority to confiscate or prohibit any sign, banner, or flag deemed inappropriate.
  • Only handheld signs and banners are allowed in the venue. 
  • For Firebirds games Specifically, sticks may be plastic, fiberglass, or wood with a maximum length of 48in. They must not be made of alloy/metal materials or be extendable. 
  • Materials featuring obscene language or graphic content are strictly prohibited.
  • Political signage is also NOT permitted. 
  • Banners, signs, and flags must not obstruct the views of other guests or cover any permanent signage inside the venue. Flags on sticks may be waved only during stoppages of play.

“If You See Something, Say Something” is a simple and effective way to engage the public and key frontline team members in recognizing and reporting potential signs of terrorism, crime and other dangers to the proper law enforcement agencies. Remember, if you See Something, Say Something!

To report suspicious activity, see the nearest Guest Services Representative or Security team member or contact the Flint Police Department at  810-237-6800. In the event of an emergency, dial 911.

🚫 Prohibited Items
The items listed below are prohibited within Dort Financial Center. There are no facilities available for storing unauthorized items, and security personnel cannot hold them. Items must either be taken back to your vehicle or disposed of prior to entering Dort Financial Center. Management retains the authority to determine which items are prohibited.

  • Aerosol cans (such as hairspray, mace, pepper spray etc.)
  • Animals, with the exception of approved service animals or service animals in training.
  • Bags that violate the bag policy.
  • Balloons (air or helium) or other inflated or inflatable items.
  • Balls ( Beach balls, footballs, Frisbee's etc.) or other projectiles.
  • Banners and flags that violate the Signs, Banners and Flags policy.
  • Baseball bats, hockey sticks, clubs, poles, brooms, selfie sticks, fishing nets or poles, signs attached to poles and similar items.
  • Beverages, except for juice boxes for children in your party or for medical needs.
  • Bottles and liquid containers (glass, plastic, and aluminum)
  • Cameras of professional or commercial nature with interchangeable photo lenses, GoPro cameras, or video camera's
  • Camera lights, tripods, selfie sticks, and mono-pods
  • Confetti, fireworks or similar type item
  • Coolers (including soft-sided coolers)
  • Drones: Use of small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Aircraft Systems) at the venue or surrounding parking areas is strictly prohibited without prior written approval from Dort Financial Center Management. .
  • Fireworks or any type of explosives.
  • Hoods, masks or face coverings that hide one's identity or objects to cover one's face (medical and religious articles exempt)
  • Illegal narcotics, including marijuana, and associated accessories or paraphernalia.
  • Klaxons, bullhorns, whistles or any noisemakers not approved by or purchased in venue
  • Laptop computers
  • Laser pointers, optical illusion devices or similar items.
  • Offensive clothing.
  • Outside food or beverages of any kind, except juice boxes for children or for medical needs.
  •  Personal transport vehicles (ie. Skateboards self balancing scooters, bicycles, roller-blades, go-karts)
  • Pepper spray, mace, and other chemical agents
  • Projectiles: footballs, Frisbee's, etc.
  • Skateboards, scooters, roller-blades, hoverboards, or similar recreational vehicles
  • Smoking of any kind (including cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vaping, etc.)
  •  Umbrellas with pointed tips (non-pointed tip umbrellas are permitted)
  • Video and/or sound recording devices including laptops, tablets, iPad's, and Go Pros.
  • Weapons of any kind, but not limited to firearms, explosives, knives, pepper spray, and mace. Toy or fake weapons (including squirt guns or super soaker's) are also not permitted.
  • Any item(s) that may pose a threat to the security of the event as determined by and at the discretion
If you choose to relinquish your prohibited item(s), they will not be returned to you. Illegal items will be confiscated.
